Why Become an ACRA Member

The Allegheny County Retirees Association (ACRA) is an organization open to all members of the retirement system and dedicated to improving the lives of County retirees.  ACRA keeps you informed of issues before the Retirement Board that effect your pension and advocates on your behalf for continued improvements in our pension benefits.

ACRA meets for monthly luncheon meetings during the spring and fall with guest speakers and informative presentations, or sometimes, just plain old fun entertainment.  Among the yearly highlights are the following:

  • Pension Fund representatives providing a status report;
  • Professionals describing and comparing Medicare insurance plans;
  • Summer Picnic;
  • Holiday Party;
  • A place to meet with your colleagues for fellowship and good food.

In addition to the monthly luncheon meetings occasionally ACRA will arrange a field trip to an interesting site in Allegheny County.

As a member, you will receive the ACRA quarterly newsletter, which will keep you informed of ACRA activities throughout the year.

ACRA currently has approximately 1,100 Allegheny County retirees or their surviving spouses as members.
